I hear you. In the past three years I’ve had two knee replacements, and the first had complications that put me in a wheelchair for months. (That first time, we finally watched Big Bang Theory, which was recommended back in the day but we hadn’t seen yet. Last year it was British Baking Show; we’re caught up now.) Some of the things we love to do, including entertaining and travel, just had to wait.

I am glad you recovered. The Big Bang is awesome. Sometimes, the couch is the best vacation spot.
Giving ourselves grace is the most important decision. Why do we even need to give ourselves permission ? You raise really good questions.
